Happy Easter!

Painting eggs takes lots of concentration.

Jack covered every inch of his eggs (and his fingers, the paper towel they were on, and his ear, strangely enough) with paint. He preferred random splotches of color. He moved from one egg to another, back and forth, here and there, until finally, each egg was a complete muddle of colors.

Ben meticulously covered every inch of his eggs with one solid color.

Maddie was very fancy. She painted flowers and hearts, crosses and dots, most of her eggs included some sort of "Happy Easter!" greeting, all of hers were also signed by the artist. These are the eggs I'm finding hardest to crack and eat...

Egg Hunt

When I was a kid, children hunted for real eggs at egg hunts. We'd take our cracked, warm, salmonella-ridden hard boiled eggs home, and our mothers would make us eat egg salad.

Kids nowadays have no idea how lucky they are to search for plastic eggs filled with jelly beans and chocolate. The day of our egg hunt this year was cold and windy, but just enough to make the egg hunters really appreciate their bounty.

On your mark, get set, run-Maddie-run!

Jack gathers his non-salmonella-ridden eggs.

Ben's smiling-it's a good haul!
