So many people can’t be wrong about lilacs! My two favorite weeks of the year are just about over: the air sweet with lilacs, my five lilac bushes teeming with the drooping, lacy blooms, a vase of gorgeous lilacs fills my kitchen with their lovely, honeyed scent.
I found this haiku, which I think describes this particular stormy spring pretty well:
picnickers flee
a slate-gray sky –
lilacs glow
~Dagosan
